Last weekend was one for the books.

As I stood beside my team of dedicated powerlifters at the City Sports Event, I felt a deep sense of pride, not just in their lifts, but in their heart, discipline, and teamwork. Together, we weren’t just promoting powerlifting… we were showcasing what it means to build strength as a community.

Powerlifting, like life, isn’t a solo sport. Behind every personal best is a coach, a cheerleader, a training partner, or a friend pushing you to give that little bit more. Over the past months, our team has trained side-by-side celebrating victories, supporting through setbacks, and showing up every single session with the same goal: to grow stronger together.

The atmosphere at the event was electric. From the clashing intensity of wrestling and the roar of kabaddi, to the raw power of weightlifting, Wolverhampton truly brought the energy. We were honoured to have the support of the City Mayor and local MPs, showing that sport isn’t just about physical excellence it’s a bridge that brings people together from all walks of life.

As someone who both hosted and competed, this event was extra special. It wasn’t just about hitting numbers on the barbell. It was about showing the next generation what’s possible when you have a vision, a purpose, and a team that believes in you.

To every lifter, supporter, volunteer, and young person who came to watch, we did this for you.

The journey continues. Stronger together. Let’s keep lifting. 💪🏽
