From Sacrifice to Promise: Reclaiming the Dream

There comes a time in life when we must choose: Our dreams, or our duty. For many years, I chose the latter. I gave up my own dreams especially my dream to work in films not out of weakness, but out of purpose. I felt a call: to serve others, build my community, uplift the voiceless, and fight for what’s right. That became my mission. And I don’t regret it. Because in that season of sacrifice, I discovered my calling.
The Purpose in the Pause
Sometimes, we think a delay is a denial. But God has a divine sense of timing.
“To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1
For a time, I laid my dream down not because it died, but because it had to wait.
Like Joseph in the Bible, whose dream had to pass through prison before the palace, my dream passed through service, sacrifice, and struggle.
But now...It’s time.
A Promise to Fulfil
I made a promise to myself, to my younger self who dared to dream at 14, and even to Arnold Schwarzenegger, my hero, who inspired me to lift, lead, and live with boldness.
And that promise was this: “One day, I will return to the screen. I will tell stories that inspire, uplift, and transform lives.”
“The gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” Romans 11:29 God doesn’t take back the dreams He placed in you. They may sleep but they don’t die.
Today, I Rise Again
So today, I make this declaration: I will walk in both my purpose and my passion. I will return to the world of film not as a fantasy, but as a mission. Because storytelling is not just about entertainment it’s about impact. And I have lived a story worth telling. From council chambers to powerlifting stages, from community service to Christian ministry. Now the next chapter begins.
Your Dream Can Live Again Too
To anyone reading this who feels like their dream is over it’s not. You served. You gave. You put others first. That’s noble. That’s Christ-like. But don’t forget your own promise.
“Write the vision and make it plain… though it tarry, wait for it; it will surely come.” Habakkuk 2:2-3
Now is your time. Pick up the vision. Dust it off. And walk into your destiny.
