Opening Scripture: “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

Introduction

Not long ago, someone asked me a question about my book: “Mak, what’s the best advice you’ve ever received?”

Now I’ve had a lot of mentors, been in boardrooms, locker rooms, campaign trails - you name it. But the best advice? It came from my grandfather. We called him Gee the Man, a leader in his community, full of confidence, full of wisdom, and full of heart. And here’s what he told me - words that shaped my journey:

“Problems come with solutions, so focus on the solution.”

Friends, that one sentence changed everything for me. It helped me push through setbacks in politics, business, and sport. And it’s the heartbeat of my book: Unlock Your Greatness – Your Journey from Stuck to Success.

Point 1: There’s a Way Out

Maybe you’re facing a big challenge today, a health crisis, a financial setback, a relationship strain. And the enemy whispers, “There’s no way out of this.”

But I want to remind you of what the Word says:

“God will always provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

That means with every problem, there's a path. You’re not stuck. You’re not forgotten. You’re just in the middle of your breakthrough.

Point 2: Shift Your Focus

The world wants you to focus on the problem. But God says, focus on the promise.

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” Colossians 3:2

You may not be able to control the problem, but you can control your perspective. And when you shift your mindset, you shift your momentum.

Like my grandfather said: Don’t waste energy on the obstacle use it to find the opportunity.

Point 3: Purpose Hides in Pressure

We all go through seasons where life squeezes us. But can I tell you something? Your purpose is often hidden inside your pressure.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” Romans 8:28

Even your disappointment has a destiny. Even your delay has direction. That rejection? It’s redirection. God’s not punishing you. BUT He’s preparing you.

If you’ll keep the right attitude, stay faithful, and lean into His promises, you’ll see Him turn it all around for your good.

Point 4: Why This Matters : Unlock Your Greatness

My book isn’t just about motivation but it’s about revelation. It’s about seeing yourself the way God sees you.

You’re not ordinary. You’re not a mistake. You’re not stuck forever.

You are filled with purpose, potential, and promise.

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”—Romans 12:2

When you renew your mind, you renew your future. You begin to live with expectancy. That’s when greatness begins to unlock—because God never called you to live small.

Final Reflection: You Are the Answer

So what’s the best advice I ever received? Not from a university. Not from a leadership course. But from a wise old man who understood Kingdom truth:

“Problems come with solutions, so focus on the solution.”

The next time you face a challenge, I want you to declare:

  • “There’s a solution with my name on it.”

  • “This may be tough, but I was made for tough things.”

  • “I’m not the victim but I’m the answer.”

Because here’s the truth: “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

You are equipped. You are anointed. And you are enough with God.

Unlock Your Greatness.

Focus on the Solution. Become the Answer and walk boldly into your destiny.

Amen!
